airBaltic customers traveling between New York (JFK) and Riga (RIX) can now enjoy convenient connections between New York and airports in the Baltic Sea region following an expansion of the Latvian carrier’s codeshare partnership with Uzbekistan Airways.
“This summer, airBaltic has significantly improved its service and timetable from airports around the Baltic Sea, adding new routes and expanding existing partnerships,” said Christophe Viatte, chief commercial officer, airBaltic. “We are especially pleased about expanding our codeshare agreement with Uzbekistan Airways, and thus being able to offer the much anticipated route to the global center of fashion, finance, culture and art — New York City, to our customers from the Baltic region and beyond.”
Customers can now board Boeing 767 aircraft operated by Uzbekistan Airways twice weekly between New York and Riga. airBaltic will serve the rest of the journey between Riga and any of the Baltic Sea airports.
The Latvian carrier currently serves more than 60 destinations from its home base in Riga, offering convenient connections to an expansive network in Europe, Scandinavia, Russia and the Middle East. New destinations include Tallinn (TLL), Vilnius (VNO) and, soon, the Baltic seaside resort of Heringsdorf (HDF).
