To improve the passenger experience for premium customers, Air Canada introduced a number of product upgrades on its leisure airline Air Canada rouge, including new spacious business-class seats, more overhead storage space and upgrades to the in-flight entertainment system.
The premium cabin in Air Canada rouge’s fleet of 20 Airbus A319 aircraft will transform from its current 3-3 seating configuration with a blocked middle seat to two side-by-side business class seats in a 2-2 configuration by mid-June in order to provide customers with more personal space and generous legroom. Additional customer convenience features include full power charging capacity with a 110-volt power plug and a high-powered USB port at every seat.
Throughout its Airbus A319 fleet, the leisure carrier will also increase carry-on space by 30 percent with the installation of new overhead bin doors dubbed “pillow doors” that allow carry-on items to be stowed more efficiently this summer.
To enhance its in-flight entertainment system on all Airbus A319 and Boeing 767 aircraft, Air Canada rouge offers a streaming in-flight entertainment system, called player, available complimentary to customers via a free app for mobile Apple and Android devices. Premium customers can also enjoy complimentary iPad rentals, upgraded to feature dozens of the latest Hollywood new releases and popular games.
