Chicago’s iconic The Drake, A Hilton Hotel welcomes guests to celebrate Prince Harry and Megan Markle’s Royal Wedding with an array of royal-themed amenities.
At the hotel’s The Palm Court, guests are greeted on Monday nights with a fondue reception followed by a screening of Hollywood films including Princess Diaries (May 7), The Other Boleyn Girl (May 14), Elizabeth – The Golden Age (May 21) and Victoria and Abdul (May 28). The event concludes with a cup of hot chocolate. Rates start at $25 per person.
Also at The Palm Court, in honor of traditional English customs, the hotel offers a Royal Tea Menu through the month of May, including finger sandwiches, desserts and, of course, tea. The hotel will also gift guests a slice of the chocolate biscuit cake served at Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding.
The hotel’s 1930s Coq d’Or bar and grill offers a specialty Royal Cocktail Menu throughout May, including the Queen’s drink of choice; gin and dubonnet, Prince Philip’s favorite English bitter; and Prince Charles’ 50:50 Martini.
When the big day arrives May 19, The Drake will celebrate the nuptials with a special event at the Grand Ballroom, featuring a screening of the wedding festivities and a luncheon once served to Princess Diana during her visit to The Drake in June 1996.
