Finnair strengthens its presence in China with the introduction of a new, year-round route between Helsinki (HEL) and Nanjing (NKG).
Located along Yangtse River, Nanjing is one of four ancient capitals of China and a vibrant cultural hub.
Offering convenient transfers to Finnair’s network of more than 100 destinations, the new route will operate three times a week during the summer season and twice a week during the winter.
With the new route, Finnair will fly 38 weekly flights to Greater China, with daily flights to Beijing (PEK) and Shanghai (PVG), four weekly flights to Chongqing (CKG) and Guangzhou (CAN), three weekly flights to Nanjing and Xi’an (XIY) and 10 weekly flights to Hong Kong (HKG).
“Finnair is fast becoming one of the biggest and most preferred European carriers operating between Europe and China. Next year will also mark a very important milestone in our history as we will celebrate the 30th anniversary of Finnair’s inaugural flight to Beijing and China,” said Juha Järvinen, chief commercial officer, Finnair.
The inaugural flight to Nanjing will take place May 13, 2018, and an Airbus A330 will service the route.
