The town of Concord, nestled into California’s Diablo Valley in San Francisco’s East Bay close to the Napa Valley wine region, is gearing up for its 28th Annual Music & Market Series. Taking place each Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Todos Santos Plaza, the series includes performers Annie Sampson and blues singer Shari Puorto. Other area events include the Sugartown Festival and Street Fair on July 17 in nearby Crockett, the 11th annual Old Grove Festival in Armstrong Woods on Sept. 17, and the 6th annual Rockin’ the River Series at the downtown Guerneville Plaza beginning on June 23. In Concord, keep an eye (and ear) out for musical duo Jim and Kathy Ocean, known for their innovative Astronaut Lullabies star parties that include a sunset dinner, music concert and after-dark stargazing through a telescope.
