This spring, fill your senses with the magic of Morocco on an eight-day cycling excursion that showcases the country’s best sites, scents, sounds and tastes. New from leading adventure tour operators SpiceRoads, the Authentic Morocco by Bicycle tour sets off in the ancient walled city of Marrakech. Experience the Medina and spend the night in a traditional riad before heading off to Telouet and the UNESCO World Heritage site/mud brick city Ait Benhaddou.
The route includes Dadès Gorge in the Atlas Mountains, the Ounila Valley, ancient villages, vibrant markets, the Palace of Bahia, the Saadian Tombs and the Koutoubia Mosque. Stops in Berber villages for mint tea, lunches of fragrant tagines, and the spectacularly winding high mountain pass at Tizi n’Tichka are also part of the journey. Departure dates include April 12, May 17, Sept. 13 and Oct. 11. Prices begin at $1,450 plus $285 for bike rental. Road surfaces are largely unpaved.
