Meliá Hotels International will grow the 5-star hotel portfolio in Morocco with the addition of two new luxury properties in the country’s tourist destination of Saidia Med. The leading Spanish hotel company plans to open a beachfront property with 396 guestrooms, a spa and an exclusive beach club and a family-friendly hotel with 150 guestrooms with a golf course in 2016. “Along with growing leisure travel, we are also seeing a growing demand for superior quality and travelers seeking the exclusive and unique experience that our Meliá brand offers guests, thanks to its unique attributes and service culture. Almost 60 years of experience and the leadership of Meliá in the leisure hotel business offer the firmest guarantees for the development of this spectacular destination,” said Gabriel Escarrer, vice chairman and CEO, Meliá Hotels International. The property will be Meliá’s first in Morocco and will join its global portfolio of more than 350 hotels in 35 countries.
