Guests visiting the Conrad Indianapolis this fall will experience a taste of modern art. The nearly 800-pound, 10-feet-high “Skyward” sculpture by artist Gino Miles will be installed at the property this month, along with seven other works by the same artist. The installation is part of Long-Sharp Gallery/ModernMasters Fine Art owner Rhonda Long-Sharp’s new lobby exhibition, A Toast to Modernism.
Miles is a 60-year-old New Mexican artist inspired by shapes in the natural landscape. His large-scale works can be found around the United States, including in the Evansville Museum of Arts, History & Science; the Spencer Museum at University of Kansas; Disney Corporate Headquarters; the cities of Cerritos, Calif., Napa, Calif., and Edmond, Okla.; at Western Kentucky University; and in multiple private collections.
Long-Sharp’s A Toast to Modernism will also include seven works on paper by Pablo Picasso, Joan Miro and Henry Moore.
