WestJet and China Southern Airlines announced a codeshare agreement on select flights in Canada. Under the terms of the new agreement, China Southern Airlines will place its CZ code on select WestJet flights connecting Vancouver (YVR) and Edmonton (YEG), Kelowna (YLW), Ottawa (YOW), Montréal (YUL), Winnipeg (YWG), Prince George (YXS), Calgary (YYC), Toronto (YYZ) and Regina (YQR). “Our new codeshare agreement with WestJet will enhance the value and customer service China Southern Airlines provides to our passengers while also contributing to our growth strategy,” said Zhao Xiaosong, senior vice president of international affairs and alliances of China Southern Airlines. “For example, our Vancouver flights increased to daily service beginning June 18. Ultimately, this partnership will allow us to provide more products and choices to all our passengers, and enhance our influence in the Sino–Canada market.” Since 2011, WestJet initiated codeshares with American Airlines, Air France, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, China Eastern Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Japan Airlines, KLM and Korean Air.

Sep 17, 2026High-Spirited Hong Kong: The Dynamic Hub Embraces Its Maritime History and Culture
It was known as the “Kai Tak heart attack” — the thrilling, terrifying final approach into Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Airport. Airliners were required to bank sharply at the last moment, dodging hills and apartment blocks to line up with a runway jutting out into Kowloon Bay. The airport is long gone, but international visitors are arriving at Kai Tak again, albeit more sedately. Their cruise ships dock smoothly at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, a modern gateway designed by Sir Norman Foster.
