If you’re feeling like this summer is flying by in a whirlwind of heat and activity, you’re not alone! It’s been a wild ride for me, and I am excited to share a bit about what’s been going on.
I recently spent a week working remotely from New York City, and let me tell you, the city was alive with summer’s full force. People are clinging to these scorching days with everything they’ve got. Yes, the heat can be almost unbearable at times, but it also brings out a unique kind of joy and nostalgia that’s hard to resist. There’s something magical about NYC in the summer: the way the sun hits the skyscrapers, the lively outdoor scenes and the sheer energy of it all. I did miss the suburbs, though, so still wouldn’t trade it. Haha!

Before all that beautiful chaos, I managed to create a core memory of my summer: catching Kevin Morby and Philadelphia’s own Dr. Dog live at The Mann Center in Fairmount. It was one of those beautiful summer nights that makes you remember why you love this season. The band was fantastic, the atmosphere was electric yet safe, and it felt like a perfect break from the daily grind. There’s nothing quite like live music to lift your spirits and remind you to enjoy the moment.

But wait, there’s more to come! This week I’m heading to Nashville for the very first time, and I’m beyond excited. While I’m not exactly a country music aficionada (or even a fan, to be completely honest), I’m all in for the Nashville experience. I’ve got my cowgirl boots ready, and I’m prepared to line dance if the occasion calls for it … when in Rome, right?
Be on the lookout for reviews and updates from my Nashville adventure. I’ll be checking out Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina; White Limozeen, the iconic Dolly Parton-themed rooftop bar at the Graduate Hotel; the infamous Printers Alley; and more. I’m looking forward to diving into the local scene and discovering what makes Music City so special.
So stay tuned for all the Nashville tales and tips. In the meantime, I hope you’re all enjoying your summer and finding your own moments of joy amidst the hustle and heat.
Catch you soon!
