Downtown San Antonio, Texas, will be home to a new, upscale hotel in 2026. Under Zachry Hospitality, The Monarch San Antonio officially broke ground Nov. 14, with plans for the property to feature 200 accommodations upon completion.
Occupying a 17-story boutique building, the hotel, named for the Monarch butterfly that migrates through the San Antonio region each winter, is designed as a convergence point for guests and locals, drawing all together in one space. In addition to guestrooms, the hotel will boast a full-service spa, terrace pool, and about 10,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

Five food and beverage concepts are also slated to grace the property, including a rooftop restaurant and bar and a basement speakeasy. Guests will also enjoy access to a garden area; fitness center; and city views over River Walk, La Villita and Tower of the Americas. Retail spaces are also expected to join the building.
The Monarch San Antonio will be part of Curio Collection by Hilton.
