The luxury Loren Hotels and Residences brand opened its much-anticipated property, The Loren at Lady Bird Lake in Austin, featuring 108 well-appointed guestrooms and suites, all with lake and city views. The Loren at Lady Bird Lake opened in summer 2022 and offers guests milk + honey spa; a 24/7 fitness center; a rooftop terrace with an infinity pool; signature event space with 180-degree views; and a lovely destination restaurant called Nido.
Ideally located within minutes of downtown Austin, guests can easily explore the city via the pedestrian bridge across the street from the hotel or complimentary e-bikes available upon request.

“We are thrilled to introduce the city of Austin to The Loren brand with the opening of The Loren at Lady Bird Lake,” said Stephen King, CEO and founder, Loren Hotels. “The beautification of everyday living sits at our core, and every design detail has been inspired by our lakefront location with the Austin skyline in the background. This marks our first property in the U.S., and we know both domestic and international travelers seek elevated hotel stays in locations that organically deliver stellar viewpoints paired with attentive services, amenities and thoughtful design.”
The Loren at Lady Bird Lake’s modern accommodations, service and luxury amenities are the perfect counterpart to the indoor/outdoor environment surrounding Austin’s Lady Bird Lake. King-bed accommodations offer large rooms with expansive views through floor-to-ceiling windows. Bathrooms feature natural stone, walk-in spa showers, plush bathrobes, SFERRA towels and Malin+Goetz products.

Rooms at The Loren at Lady Bird Lake include a fully stocked gourmet minibar featuring selections from snacks to bourbon and wine. The larger one- and two-bedroom suites feature panoramic views of Lady Bird Lake and offer comfortable seating areas. The Loren Suite and Premier Suites offer balconies with a choice of views, from Lady Bird Lake and Downtown Austin to Texas Hill Country.
The hotel’s signature restaurant Nido brings the rugged charm of the area’s surroundings together with the culinary techniques of coastal Europe. Overlooking Lady Bird Lake and the cityscape, Nido’s eighth-floor rooftop location offers a simple and elegant dining experience with an ingredient-first mentality led by executive chef Brad McDonald. Nido is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The Loren at Lady Bird Lake is also home to milk + honey Spa. The 5,000-square-foot space offers a full range of all-natural spa and medspa treatments, with 10 treatment rooms, steam showers and a relaxing lounge area. A rooftop terrace with an infinity pool provides a full-service poolside experience, including food and drinks. The 24/7 fitness center is located on the seventh floor, just below.
Rates at The Loren Lady Bird Lake Austin in 2023 start at $311 per night in winter and gradually rise to $570 per night from late spring to fall. The Loren at Lady Bird Lake joins the brand’s flagship property, The Loren at Pink Beach in Bermuda, opened in 2017.

It was known as the “Kai Tak heart attack” — the thrilling, terrifying final approach into Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Airport. Airliners were required to bank sharply at the last moment, dodging hills and apartment blocks to line up with a runway jutting out into Kowloon Bay. The airport is long gone, but international visitors are arriving at Kai Tak again, albeit more sedately. Their cruise ships dock smoothly at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, a modern gateway designed by Sir Norman Foster.
