The End of Summer

This year the summer went by way too quickly. Despite two trips to the Jersey Shore, I feel as though I didn’t get down the shore enough this summer. I normally take a couple daytrips with friends, but I didn’t get around to it this year.

For the whole month of August and some of September, I will be recovering from ankle surgery where I can’t put weight on my right foot, so my movement and activities are limited, but I am not going to let that put a damper on the end of my summer.

During the weekends I am planning on spending time soaking up the sun by my parents’ pool with my family. When I was down the shore I got a pretty decent tan; but since I’ve been back I feel like it’s starting to fade, so I want to spend time outside trying to get it back before summer’s end. I don’t know if I will be able to go in the pool, but at least I can still enjoy the sun and the company. A couple of my friends are planning to come visit me, so it will be nice to have some other faces around during my recovery.

One weekend I have a first anniversary celebration for my friends Jeff and Taylor, whose wedding I was in last summer — I can’t believe it has been one year already! The celebration will include the bride and groom’s family as well as the wedding party and close friends. It’s been a while since I’ve seen some of the people going, so I am excited about that as well as the opportunity to get out of the house.

I am hoping the rest of the summer doesn’t fly by like the beginning. Here’s to everyone enjoying the rest of their summer!
