So many great artists and composers won big at the 2022 Grammy Awards, and South Africa was well represented. Trevor Noah, a South African-born comedian, hosted and set a new standard in awards show hosting.
Every year, attendees receive a Grammy’s goodie bag filled with popular products, clothing and more. This year, Skinny Sbu socks, founded by South African designer Sibusiso Ngwenya, were included in that goodie bag.
South African Tourism extends a warm and heartfelt congratulations to Nkosinathi Maphumulo, also known as Black Coffee, for his win at the 64th Grammy Awards. This marks the first win for the South African DJ and producer, who won for his album Subconsciously in the Best Dance/Electronic Album category.
“Arts and culture are one of our biggest exports; our people are warm and friendly and have always been at the forefront of showcasing all that our country has to offer. As South Africa, we have seen how such exceptionalism and accomplishments help us to reinforce the destination’s offering to the world. Victories such as this one, and inclusion of our talent and products on such revered world stages shows travelers the diversity of experiences that await them when they visit our country,” said Themba Khumalo, acting CEO, South African Tourism.
These achievements come at the perfect time as South African Tourism recently launched its new campaign that invites the world to explore the country filled with rich, authentic experiences and, through its Live Again! promotion, to enjoy everything else that makes South Africa unique. The country offers breathtaking beauty, sun-kissed coasts, wildlife adventures and more. With the warm weather and cultural diversity of the people, South Africa is the perfect destination for travelers in 2022.
