The new lounge at Singapore Changi Airport is a benchmark for Qatar Airways’ future premium lounges, with luxurious interiors and enhanced amenities. The ultimate goal of the new lounges is to narrow the gap between business- and first-class lounges. The lounge features a design inspired by modern Arabic architecture.
“Qatar Airways has already set one industry benchmark with our award-winning business-class seat, Qsuite, now we are redefining the new standard for business class lounges. We want to ensure that the on-ground experience offered to our passengers matches our iconic 5-star airline experience. As the first Qatar Airways lounge following this design concept, it will serve as a new standard for all our Premium Lounges going forward,” said Akbar Al Baker, chief executive, Qatar Airways Group.
The lounge in Singapore is the fifth premium business lounge the airline rolled out. Coming in at 700 square metres, it can accommodate more than 85 passengers at any given time. It is open daily 7:30 a.m.–2 a.m.
The lounge has several different areas to accommodate the needs of different travellers. The Principal Lounge, Quiet Pods, Garden Bistro, High Seating, Martini Bar and Private Lounge give travellers plenty of space to unwind. Its other unique feature includes custom furniture pieces equipped with wireless chargers, lamps and compartments for storing handbags.
Qatar Airways’ other premium lounges can be found in London, Paris, Beirut and Bangkok.
Will you make use of these new premium lounges when you fly Qatar Airways? What do you think of the airline’s business product? Tell us. Email us at letters@globaltravelerusa.com. Please include your full name and location.

May 21, 2025Hotel Nice Beau Rivage Review
In the city Henri Matisse once called home — and where Musée Matisse holds his largest collection — Hotel Beau Rivage has a special connection with the artist, who first visited the hotel in 1916 and painted famous sea views from his room 89 in 1917. Today, framed Matisse prints — many brightly colored cut-out collages from the artist’s JAZZ collection — decorate its walls. Hotel guests also benefit from a partnership with the museum.
