Flights to Spain will be easier to come by next May thanks to a new route from Iberia.
Beginning May 1, 2020, Iberia will operate up to five weekly Washington (IAD)–Madrid (MAD) flights. The flights accommodate 29 business-class seats, 21 premium-economy seats and 242 economy seats. Throughout the inaugural summer, the route will serve 68,000 seats.
The new route is the latest in a long tradition of service to the United States from Iberia. The airline began in 1954, and now operates 84 return flights per week.
“Iberia is the 14th European carrier to join the Dulles International family, continuing the airport’s legacy of offering unparalleled connectivity from the National Capital Region to Europe and beyond,” said Yil Surehan, vice president of airline business development, Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.
Iberia offers connections to 32 Spanish destinations and 68 European ones through Madrid.
