According to a new study from Passport Health, international travelers are adding more destinations to single itineraries this year than last. Through the first half of 2019, travelers planning to visit 10 or more countries in a single trip increased by 16 percent year over year. Travelers planning to visit five to nine countries in a single trip increased by 8 percent and travelers planning to visit one to four countries in a single trip increased by 10 percent.
“In many ways, this trend is representative of the increasing global interest of the American traveler. But a lot of it is just plain fun and adventure as Baby Boomers cross off bucket list trips,” said David Tedesco, chairman, Passport Health.
According to Passport Health, which provides travel medicine and immunization services, the brand’s most ambitious traveler itinerary year to date was a 101-country trek that took the client across six continents. A slightly less-ambitious client presented the brand with a 43-country itinerary.
“As avid travelers ourselves, we thrive on the excitement that a multiple-destination adventure brings,” said Tedesco. “As travel medicine providers, we’re just happy to help ensure people stay healthy as they set sail on trips of a lifetime.”
