The Peninsula Manila is set to receive phased refurbishments and refreshments as guestrooms, suites and more are overhauled to provide a more luxurious experience.

The renovation is the most extensive the property has seen since 2008. According to a release from the property, the changes will elevate the hotel to provide a new level of modern luxury. There are not many solid details yet, but the changes will be big.

The new guestroom interiors will feature natural blues and grays to create a bright space reminiscent of a tropical style. Furniture will come from locally sourced wood.

The rooms are also set to receive a number of finishing enhancements, like new mattresses; 55-inch, high-definition televisions; updated bedside light fixtures; more accessible outlets; and the ability to make voice phone calls over the internet.

Following the guestrooms, a new private lounge gives guests a place to unwind. The Gallery Club Lounge will be situated on the third floor and will overlook the hotel’s lobby and “Sunburst” sculpture. The lounge offers a hot breakfast buffet, all-day refreshments, afternoon tea and an open bar. Guests who book stays directly receive complimentary access to the lounge.

The whole renovation will last seven months and reduce the number of rooms from 469 to 351.

“This long-anticipated renovation has been planned with the intention of keeping The Peninsula Manila relevant and distinctive for our guests, without losing its charm,” said Mark J. Choon, general manager, The Peninsula Manila.
