Velsen, The Netherlands – June 20st 2018: Azamara Journey on North Sea Channel towards IJmuiden sea lock

Daily

Azamara now offers more than 1,700 land programs for immersive experiences beyond cruising. The change is part of Azamara’s recent rebranding, removing “Club Cruises” from its name and debuting a new logo.

New land experiences include authentic dining, transfers as needed, tour directors and expert-led explorations of a destination. Land programming options include AzAmazing Journeys, for intimate, once-in-a-lifetime experiences; Land Journeys, for group adventures themed around common interests; and Stay Local, for in-depth explorations of a singular city. AzAmazing Journeys’ highlights include treks into the Borneo Rainforest in search of orangutans, up-close viewings of the safari Big Five and unprecedented discoveries in Moscow. Land Journey highlights include journeys by rail, sail and foot through Norway, Brazil, New Zealand and more.

“This is just the beginning,” says Larry Pimentel, president and CEO, Azamara. “We expect our land programming to grow even more as we continue to augment our services. That said, it was a natural next step to take these custom-designed destination itineraries one step further on land and adjust our overall name and expand our strategy.

“Now available on every single voyage starting October 2019, and available throughout future deployments, we will provide a variety of unique curated products, which emphasize our Explore Further identity through benefits such as longer stays, more overnights and night touring. These bucket-list type experiences are all made possible in collaboration with reputable, independent travel experts to show the Azamara traveler ‘a whole new world.’”

Now’s the Time to See Giza, the Nile and Beyond

All archaeology-obsessed eyes turned hopefully toward Egypt earlier this year when the highly anticipated Grand Egyptian Museum outside Cairo finally began welcoming visitors after construction delays, funding roadblocks and political upheaval in the region (among other factors) conspired to keep things delayed for many long years. The museum’s cherry on the top is slated to open this summer, with the July opening of the museum’s 20-plus-years-in-the-making Tutankhamen galleries and accompanying cache of some 5,000 artifacts and treasures from the boy king’s tomb.
