Planning an escape with your bestie? The pink-sand beaches of Bermuda beckon, and no property is more perfect on this British Overseas Territory than the Hamilton Princess Hotel & Beach Club. Referred to by locals as The Pink Palace and the Grande Dame of Bermuda, the 386-room hotel is named for Queen Victoria’s daughter Louise, who visited the island the year before it opened in 1885. The Hamilton Princess has an enviable waterfront location where you and your BFF can catch up over cocktails, spend a pampering afternoon in the spa and dish about the latest gossip over, well, inspired dishes.
Here are seven reasons to book a weekend girls’ getaway here:

Photo Opportunities Aplenty for Instagram
There’s no shortage of cute and quirky spots here to create a Bermuda Instagram reel. Snap a selfie in front of the “Greetings from Bermuda” postcard painted on one of the hotel’s pink walls or one while you’re both standing on the shallow shelf in the adults-only pool at dusk with yachts in the harbor as your backdrop. Take turns taking each other’s photo inside an adorable pink vintage phone booth installed by the waterfront. And for the ultimate FOMO-inducing shot, pass your phone to your friend while you swim out to lounge in one of the hammocks in the ocean at the beach club.
Sunset Cocktails at 16O9
Named to commemorate the year of the wreck of the British ship Sea Venture, whose survivors lived on Bermuda for nine months after the captain forcibly ran the ship aground during a storm, this restaurant and bar is the best place to catch the sunset over a cocktail or two. The heady Flor de Bermuda shakes mezcal with vanilla syrup, lemon juice, St. Germain and lavender bitters, while Your Highness mingles Empress Gin with lemon, berries and mint, topped with sparkling wine. If you and your gal pal are feeling especially thirsty, order a pitcher of Princess Palomas, which come in original, jalapeño or Tajin flavors.

Breakfast in the Fairmont Gold Lounge
Booking a room on the hotel’s lifestyle floor gives you access to amenities in the Fairmont Gold Lounge, including a dedicated concierge and snacks and beverages throughout the day. Before you pack up to hit the beach club or lounge by the pool, grab a table inside or one on the waterfront patio, indulge in the continental breakfast or linger on a sofa with a cappuccino.
The Coolest Beach Club
A 20-minute complimentary jitney ride takes you to the Hamilton Princess’ private beach club. Here, rock formations form a protected cove, the water is blissfully blue, loungers and umbrellas dot the powdery sand, and hammocks on stands in the water let you cool off and sunbathe at the same time. You also have access to changing rooms, bathrooms, showers and lockers. Take to the water on a standup paddleboard, kayak, or snorkel board. Or opt to book a cabana; order a round of Frosé; and share grilled prawn skewers, snapper ceviche with tortilla chips and a mushroom flatbread with garlic cream sauce.

A Pretty Incredible Poolscape
Not only does the Princess’ infinity-edge pool boast sweeping views of Hamilton Harbour, but you can also snag two of the harbor-facing curved loungers set up in a shallow area. The weather will most likely be picture perfect, but you’re still encouraged to order a Dark ‘n’ Stormy, Bermuda’s official cocktail, with Goslings Rum, lime juice and ginger beer. And since you’re on a decidedly adult girls’ trip, you might also want to take a dip in the adults-only pool, located right outside Exhale Spa.
A Spaaaaaaaah Day
Speaking of Exhale Spa, the 5,400-square-foot facility boasts nine treatment rooms, four manicure stations and two pedicure thrones, as well as classes including Pilates, barre and outdoor yoga. Try a hydrafacial, glow body scrub or even a couple’s massage. (You’re here to spend as much time as possible with your best friend, right? Who says this experience has to be reserved for romance?) A fusion massage combines Swedish and other techniques; flow uses kneading to open locked muscles, free energy blockages and relieve tension; and the deep tissue option relieves those pesky knots from travel, work and everyday stress. Afterward, stay for lunch in the spa.
Farewell Dinner at Intrepid
Open solely for dinner, this steak, seafood and raw bar restaurant is where you can raise a toast to your friendship and mark the end of your fabulous sojourn. Their take on the negroni is made with a single-barrel Goslings Rum specifically crafted for the hotel; they also make a lovely Vesper. Start with a dozen chilled oysters and broccoli tempura with spicy aioli, then share a ribeye with Bordelaise sauce, smashed truffle potatoes and smoke-house mac and cheese with lobster. And because it’s rum all day on this charming island, bread pudding topped with toasted butter crumbs and drizzled with rum sauce is the only way to end your girls’ trip done right.

Sep 23, 2023When the Sun Goes Down, the Party Begins on Mykonos
There is something magical about sipping a glass of local wine while watching the sun slip into the Aegean Sea as the afterglow tinges traditional, white-washed Cycladic houses with glorious shades of rose, purple and gold. Ancient Greeks believed Helios, the Sun God, caused sunsets by driving his fiery chariot into the sea. Standing at water’s edge in Mykonos, watching the sky slowly turn from purple to inky black, you almost believe it.

Sep 22, 2023Cruise Alaska for Awe-Inspiring Adventures to Delight All Ages
I hadn’t even made it to my first cup of coffee when I got an early phone call from my sister, who lives two time zones away. “OMG, Kristy, Patsy Cline came on twice while I was driving the kids to school today,” she laughed. “You know what that means, right?” We both gasped and then instantly began singing the lyrics to “La Bamba,” an inside joke we’d shared since our family’s Alaskan cruise decades ago when we, unintentionally, won the ship’s karaoke contest among a sea of Patsy Cline tributes.

Located in the heart of Houston’s Theatre District, the recently renovated Lancaster Hotel originally opened in 1926. Sep 19, 2023Revolutionary Technology Propels Cruise Lines Toward Achieving Zero Emissions
Powered by oars and, later, the wind, the world’s first seagoing vessels were, as we would call them today, zero-emission. That all changed in the 18th century when industrial-age engineers figured out how to harness the steam engine’s power for maritime use. Diesel engines soon followed and, before long, ocean liners plied seas around the world.
