Could train stations be the new foodie destinations in Europe? They just might be. With train travel a growing trend, even stations climb aboard (figuratively) with good restaurants serving up tasty dishes and drinks. Where can you find some great eating options in Europe? These stations offer some top-notch dining experiences, all available through Rail Europe.

1e Klas, Centraal Station, Amsterdam
Take a gastronomic trip back in time at Amsterdam’s Centraal Station. First-class dining awaits at spots like Grand Café Restaurant on 1e Klas on Platform 2. This spot boasts an extensive menu with quick turnaround for those with a train to catch. Try some local cuisine at restaurants like Ossenworst or Apfelstrudel. You can also indulge in a cold brew or one of many beer options. While dining and relaxing, take in the 19th-century-style décor and furnishings honoring the day it first opened.
Champagne Bar and Grand Brasserie, St. Pancras International, London
Enjoy the convenience of a train station with a high-end feel at St. Pancras and Searcy’s Champagne Bar. Located on the upper concourse of the station, this establishment is the perfect way to both begin and end a long journey. Watch trains come and go while having some bubbles and assorted bites. After time spent here, head across the bar to St. Pancras Grand Brasserie, an elegant restaurant embracing the old-fashioned glamor of train travel. Here, you’ll find a traditional British menu and, if you happen to be here on Friday or Sunday evenings, some soul or jazz music.

Le Train Bleu, Gare de Lyon, Paris
While the original Train Bleu finished its last journey in 2007, guests can still experience the legacy of Le Train Bleu with a unique dining experience at Gare de Lyon. Paying homage to overnight luxury express service, Le Train Bleu serves up some tasty dishes in an elegant space. Le Train Bleu offers both á la carte and tasting menus, as well as a traveler menu with guaranteed service within 45 minutes for travelers on a tight train schedule.
La Brasserie de la Gare Brussels Midi, Brussels
With a Michelin Guide stamp of approval, La Brasserie de la Gare is the place to go for classic Belgian cuisine. The restaurant acknowledges its location amidst the busy train station with old train lanterns and timetables. Look for the many paintings adorning the walls, too, all painted by Paul Vankueken, the restaurant owner’s father. For dishes, you can find everything from frites to shrimp croquettes to a wide variety of wines.

All’Antico Vinaio, Stazione Centrale, Milan
Head to this restaurant to indulge in a double-decker Italian sub made with the freshest ingredients. All’Antico Vinaio offers made-to-order sandwiches on fresh schiacciata bread. One of the most popular sandwiches is the Favolosa, stacked with Sbriciolona salami, pecorino cheese, artichoke spread and spicy eggplants.

Who knew throwing a stone or rock down a sheet of ice and sweeping it into position on a target would become so popular? Sure, it is intriguing to watch the techniques curlers use to place a stone in the center of a bull’s-eye, or house, particularly when a teammate starts sweeping the ice to further direct that stone. It takes more skill than just a good throw. Strategy, mental focus, balance and, of course, teamwork, are just the beginning of the curling skills needed to win.
