Philadelphia’s The Rittenhouse recently announced an exclusive collaboration with Philadelphia Museum of Art in honor of its Mary Cassatt at Work exhibition. Cassatt was a French Impressionist born in Pennsylvania and she has a special connection to the hotel, which stands on the grounds of her brother’s former estate. The hotel boasts Mary Cassatt Tea Room and Mary Cassatt Suite, and displays her artwork in the lobby.

“The rich history and culture of Philadelphia are the foundation of The Rittenhouse and our collaboration with the Philadelphia Museum of Art creates a unique opportunity for experiential storytelling,” said Reginald Archambault, general manager, The Rittenhouse. “Through our partnership, we’re able to honor Mary Cassatt’s spirit and further enhance our renowned guest experience.”

The hotel’s restaurants and bars will honor Cassatt’s legacy through the end of summer. At The Library Bar, find an impressionist-style seasonal cocktail menu with inspiration for the drinks coming from the color palettes and titles of her works. Cassatt’s signature chocolate truffles, using her original recipe, will be featured on the Afternoon Tea menu and as a turndown amenity for select guests. At Lacroix and Scarpetta, a special-edition Mural City Cellars Cabernet Franc Rosé named Mary Cassatt at Work will appear on menus with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the museum.
Guests can book the Lasting Impressions offer, including accommodations, tickets to the museum’s exhibit, an in-room tea experience for two, a bottle of the aforementioned wine and a gift bag including the truffles. With the Maternal Kiss offer, named for one of Cassatt’s famed works, guests receive spa treatments, a pool-side lunch experience and a gift.

Nov 18, 2025For Peripatetic Professionals, the Whole Planet Becomes One Big Office Space
It’s about 1 p.m. Central European Time on a Thursday, and I'm riding on a boat off the coast of Gothenburg, Sweden’s second-largest city, scouting for seals basking in the sun on the rocky outcroppings that dot the sea. By 4 p.m. I am back at my virtual office, ready to start my business day just as most of my North American clients are coming online.

Heavily impacted by World War II, today the city thrives as an important economic and cultural center ... although, unfortunately, it’s often overlooked by North American leisure tourists.
