A Night of Serendipity
Wednesdays on the Green is back for its 14th year, presented by Skokie Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Skokie Public Library. Every Wednesday evening, musical acts perform a free concert, drawing hundreds of fans at Village Green, the courtyard adjacent to the library.

Lucy Dacus at The Met
Lucy Dacus, indie rocker and member of three-piece supergroup boygenius, kicked off the tour for her new album in Philadelphia on April 16. My girlfriend, Brena, and I were lucky enough to be in attendance for the opening show at The Met, an ornate and stunning venue. Brena and I have both been Dacus fans for years, and the last time we saw her solo was in 2022 when she was touring her third album Home Video and before Brena and I even knew each other. We saw her together as part of boygenius when the band toured in 2023, but a solo Dacus show is always special, and we had been waiting for this for a long time.
Clairo at Franklin Music Hall
If you’re familiar with my blogs, you probably know I go to a lot of concerts, especially for female alternative/indie artists. My most recent live music venture was to see Clairo on November 1 at Franklin Music Hall, a general admission Philadelphia venue. I was worried I would have to miss this one at first because while Clairo is one of my favorite artists, when tickets first went on sale, the prices were astronomical for a GA venue. After refreshing the page a bunch of times, prices came down a bit, and I jumped at the change. I still overspent compared to what I’ve paid for other shows at this venue, but I justified it for Clairo.
