A recent study published by Cuba Holiday reveals which nation’s capitals are the cheapest and most expensive to visit.
Cuba Holiday’s Capital Economy Index breaks travel costs down into six different categories to measure cost. The metrics measure the average cost for accommodations, attractions, transportation around the city, meals for two, coffee and beer.
Cuba Holiday came to its conclusion after analyzing studies and surveys focusing on the cities in question. Costs were evaluated over one year and measured to find a true average.
The cheapest capital on the index is Jakarta, Indonesia. Based on the six metrics, it is possible to spend two days in Jakarta for $19.68. This average includes $5.25 for accommodations and $10.27 for dining. The most expensive capital on the list is Dubai, U.A.E., at rank 102. Two days in Dubai cost $305.
The cheapest capital city in Oceania is Wellington, New Zealand, ranking 70 and costing $103.37 per two days.
All three cities with the cheapest hotel metric are located in Asia, with Jakarta taking No. first; Phnom Penh, Cambodia, taking second; and New Delhi, India, coming in at third.
