ARRIVAL/CHECK-IN: After flying to Newark and catching an Uber ride, I soon made my way to Thompson Central Park Hyatt for my two-night stay. I was kindly welcomed by the staff who pointed me in the direction for check-in. As I walked in, I simply took in the lobby and noticed how everything was put together nicely with a sleek look and touches of ambient lighting. After finishing up a seamless check-in, I was on my way to the 31st floor.

GUEST QUARTERS: I walked into a beautiful guestroom that shared a similar vibe with the lobby, with décor chosen to continue the modern NYC aesthetic and atmospheric lighting to match. A plush blue L-shaped couch sat in a separate space near the window, with a great view of the city and a small nearby table to utilize while working in the room. Convenient nearby outlets were perfect for keeping devices well charged.

The king-sized bed offered bedside space with convenient outlets and switches for the light fixtures. A Victrola speaker placed next to the bed was great for connecting via Bluetooth or listening to a local radio station. The bed provided pure comfort with the coziest of pillows. The feeling was unmatched after a long day of travel.

SERVICES/AMENITIES: Due to my busy schedule I was not able to utilize the spa and fitness amenities offered for guests. I did, however, get to enjoy a delicious breakfast at the Upper Stories Lounge one morning prior to a few meetings; the staff was kind and helpful in making perfect coffee for the start of the day. Throughout my two-night stay, the attentive hotel staff provided fantastic service with attention to detail, even welcoming me to Thompson Central Park Hyatt with Saratoga Water and a light snack tray, which I indulged in rather quickly. I enjoyed using the Dyson hairdryer offered in the bathroom as well as the available steamer.

TOP TAKEAWAYS:

  • Attention to the décor’s details in the room was my favorite, especially around the mirror and the moveable TV, which can be flipped so you can watch from the couch or bed. I am sure guests greatly appreciate this!
  • My stay was superb. The generous and welcoming staff made my stay unforgettable.
