ARRIVAL/CHECK-IN: On my recent trip to Cyprus, I explored several different destinations, so I did a bit of hotel-hopping. On the third day of the trip I stayed at Almyra Hotel in Kato Pafos. After a long day of exploring Pafos, I was hoping for a quick check-in so I could head to my room to freshen up and relax before dinner that night. Upon arrival I was greeted by the friendly staff with a glass of Champagne. To my delight, check-in was swift, I received my key, and the friendly bellhop told me about the hotel and its amenities while guiding me to my room.
GUEST QUARTERS: My Superior Sea View room, located in the main building, featured sleek décor with white marble flooring and navy blue furniture adding a coastal vibe, and floor-to- ceiling sliding doors offering one-of-a-kind views of the Mediterranean Sea.
I discovered a spacious bathroom with a giant vanity area and a walk-in shower to the left, while floor-to- ceiling closets stood on my right. Further into the room sat a king-sized bed and an entertainment center with storage space and a mini-fridge inside. Above that hung a decent-sized TV with many channels, hotel information and the chance to access streaming services.
At the back of the room a sitting area held two chairs and a small table in front of sliding doors. I didn’t have time to enjoy the area, but it served as a great alternative to a balcony — I could still enjoy the stunning views without having to sit outside in the heat.
SERVICES/AMENITIES: Guests staying at Almyra Hotel can choose whether they want a relaxing escape or an adventurous trip. Those choosing to relax can spend their days next to one of the five pools, indulging in a luxury treatment at AlmyraSpa, sweating out their stress in the steam and sauna rooms, soaking up the sun on the sun decks, and taking workout or yoga classes through the fitness center. Alternatively, travelers looking to explore the surrounding area and immerse in Cypriot culture can check out the hotel’s curated experiences and tours. These offerings range from wine tastings and culinary experiences to culture immersion, historical sites and landmark exploration, plus family tours and much more.
The hotel is also home to five restaurants. At Notios you can enjoy a Japanese twist on traditional Mediterranean flavors; Mosaics serves as a lively breakfast buffet by day followed by an alfresco dining experience at night; Ouzeri offers a seaside venue, authentic Greek flavors, live music and cold drinks; Eauzone is perfect for post-spa nourishment featuring healthy fruit shakes, organic teas, fresh juices and light bites; and Aeras, open only during the winter season, offers a fireside space with refined snacks, sea views and delicious drinks.
Families staying at Almyra don’t have to worry about packing essentials for little travelers thanks to Baby Go Lightly service. Travelers can order all the needed materials online prior to arrival, and it will be waiting in their room. Additionally, young guests will never be bored when they visit Mythos Kids’ Club, featuring activities such as science experiments, mosaic workshops, baking and cooking, arts and crafts, picnics, and much more.
TOP TAKEAWAYS:
- The various room categories make it easy to plan group travel. Large groups of friends and multigenerational families can choose larger suites or adjoining rooms.
- Book a Sea View room for the most breathtaking glimpses of the Mediterranean. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors allow for chances to catch the sun rising or setting over the sea.
- Don’t leave the property without dining at Ouzeri. The seaside location provides cool breezes, delicious Mediterranean dishes, mezze dining options, a relaxing atmosphere, live music and deli- cious drinks.
