Pan Pacific Hotels Group, the hospitality arm of Singapore-based UOL Group Limited, announced the opening of Pan Pacific Dalian. This marks PPHG’s seventh hotel in China and its first in the vibrant coastal city of Dalian.

Strategically located in Dalian’s Shahekou District, where local attractions include the huge Xinghai Square, Golden Beach, Zhongshan Park and Dalian Sea Shell Museum, the property offers guests a blend of contemporary comfort and authentic local experiences. The hotel’s prime location provides easy access for business or leisure travelers visiting Dalian World Expo Centre and Dalian Xinghai Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Soaring 52 stories high, the new Pan Pacific Dalian offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Yellow Sea and surrounding hills, combining elevated design and modern elegance in line with PPHG’s Graceful Luxury, a refreshed brand philosophy celebrating meaningful, sensory-rich hospitality experiences.

When dining at Pan Pacific Dalian, guests will be pampered with warm hospitality and attentive service while enjoying dishes from Hai Tian Lou. This restaurant offers the flavors of authentic Cantonese cuisine with a traditional selection featuring dim sum, fresh seafood and regional specialties. The Western restaurant is called Flying Fish, serving fresh fish, seafood and steaks.

Drawing design inspiration from Dalian’s rich legacy as a historic trading hub, the property features 216 spacious rooms and suites blending elegance and Asian décor. Perched at the building’s summit are meeting and dining venues, including a rooftop bar with stunning panoramic views. The hotel is expected to obtain a rooftop helipad this year, a striking feature for V.I.P. transfers, aerial sightseeing and other creative events. The property also has a fully equipped fitness center and spa.

Although U.S. business and leisure travel to China faced significant challenges in 2025 due to the risk of travel restrictions and the changing rules of engagement, international hotels in China continued to hold MICE events and business meetings with U.S., European and Asian business travelers. With travel to China projected to grow by 15 percent in 2026, travelers are cautiously confident international trade will improve, especially in business-oriented, new-wave cities like Dalian, where hotels like the modern Pan Pacific Dalian offer safe and interesting business and leisure experiences.

“Our new hotel underscores PPHG’s long-term commitment to China, where growth is increasingly being shaped by the vibrancy of its next-wave cities. Our expansion into Dalian reflects our strategy to deepen our presence in China’s urban centers that are driving domestic tourism and economic momentum,” said Choe Peng Sum, CEO, Pan Pacific Hotels Group.

Located in Northeast China, Dalian is a bustling city for international business travel, fast emerging as a coastal economic powerhouse, renowned for its growing influence in international trade, maritime innovation and as a MICE destination.

Revive and Relax at Finisterra Spa at Martinhal Sagres Family Beach Resort

Most visitors remember Portugal’s Algarve for its 100-plus miles of golden, sun-drenched beaches. We remember this southern coast of Portugal for the quiet, white-washed villages and dramatic cliffs of its far western corner. And for the superbly serene Finisterra Spa at Martinhal Sagres Family Beach Resort, where we first discovered what a massage and facial could do for aching shoulders and faces parched from days of hiking along the sun-washed clifftops. Neither I nor my husband, Tim, had been fans of spas before that trip, but Finisterra made us believers.

The Galápagos Islands Overdeliver on Awe

Four days into our weeklong voyage around the Galápagos Islands, my brother and I stepped onto Bartolomé Island. The shells of Sally Lightfoot crabs looked like red diamonds bursting through the dark, volcanic rock. Turquoise water stood in shocking contrast.
