With Women’s History Month in full swing, the historic Palace Hotel proudly celebrates Angie Clifton as its first woman general manager in its 150-year history.
Angie Clifton brings more than 25 years of experience to her role as general manager of Palace Hotel. Thanks to an extensive, hands-on understanding of hotel operations and a passion for taking care of her staff and guests, Clifton has found success throughout her career in hospitality.
Her career began in 1996 as a room attendant/night cleaner at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise in Alberta, Canada. Her strong work ethic and commitment to service led to several promotions in the housekeeping department until she switched paths to director of the front office. After 12 years at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, she moved to Fairmont Washington DC as director of rooms.
Clifton held the role of hotel manager at Fairmont Copley Plaza Boston and Westin Georgetown before moving across the country to join Palace Hotel as hotel manager in 2017. From 2017 to 2019, Clifton served as hotel manager at Palace Hotel, took a brief hiatus and came back in 2023 as general manager.
“Looking ahead, I plan to work alongside my exceptional team to deliver unforgettable experiences to both travelers and locals that truly reflect the iconic stature of the Palace,” said Clifton. “My strategy for success is threefold: taking care of people, taking care of business, and taking care of the community.”
