The location of the world’s deepest geothermal springs, the hot water that gives its name to the Colorado town of Pagosa Springs was long considered sacred by the native Ute Indians. Today’s visitors can soak in natural hot pools at Healing Waters Resort & Spa, Overlook Hot Springs Spa and The Springs Resort & Spa. Small mineral-rich pools of varying temperature are located alongside the rushing San Juan River, and soaking choices include modern bathhouse access or a Victorian-style indoor-outdoor experience at The Overlook Spa.

Complete with ancient Ancestral Puebloan village and a Chacoan Great House high perched high above the Piedra River Valley, the breathtaking natural rock formations can be enjoyed in the company of an interpretive guide who will share the location’s unique history.
