InterContinental New York Barclay announced a partnership with Soothe, the largest on-demand wellness platform, to bring convenient, in-room spa services to guests. With the hotel’s 100th anniversary in 2026, the luxurious new experience is one of the many available to celebrate the milestone anniversary.
With the new partnership, guests at the hotel can book in-room professional spa services to their room or suite through the IC Barclay mobile app, hotel website, in-room TV block or dedicated QR codes. At the time of your appointment, licensed professionals will arrive with all of their equipment to turn the room into a private spa sanctuary. Soothe helps connect travelers with a network of wellness professionals in a variety of therapy services, such as Swedish massage, deep-tissue massage, sports massage, couples massage, prenatal massages, facials and more.
“InterContinental New York Barclay has welcomed discerning travelers to Midtown since 1926, and this partnership is a natural extension of our residential style of hospitality,” said Sofia L. Vandaele, general manager and regional director of operations, InterContinental New York Barclay. “By teaming up with Soothe, we’re giving guests even more control over how and when they unwind, whether they’re in New York for business, leisure, or a bit of both.”
The partnership enhances the hotel’s commitment to offering one-of-a-kind, wellness-focused experiences for the everyday traveler. It also reinforces the hotel’s stance as one of Midtown Manhattan’s most coveted properties.

Apr 13, 2026I Took a Trip Without Knowing the Destination … Here’s What I Learned
When it comes to travel planning, I’m a control freak. I book flights based on aircraft type and seat availability, overanalyze hotel reviews, know exactly what I’m going to eat or drink before ever setting foot in a restaurant, and capture every last detail in a lengthy Google document. So, when I recently had the opportunity to take a surprise trip — with nary a decision made by me — I was a little skeptical. The thought of relinquishing my travel fate to someone else gives me the shakes. However, a tiny part of me was curious about what would happen if I let go, so Type A personality be damned, I decided to face my inner planner head-on and head out on an unknown solo getaway.
