Since its opening in 1917, Hyatt Carmel Highlands, overlooking the Pacific Ocean, has been a luxury hospitality destination in the region. In preparation for its centennial celebration, the property will be undergoing a series of upscale changes to the guestrooms, bar, lobby and award-winning restaurant, Pacific’s Edge.

Renovations to the restaurant will be among some of the first to occur, and include new inside décor and the addition of a 40-seat, 1,200-square-foot patio, which will be heated to allow al fresco dining all year round. These changes will coincide with the merging of both Pacific’s Edge and the hotel’s more casual restaurant, California Market, into one venue, incorporating themes and favorites from both menus. The existing wine list will also be updated to include more local wineries. All changes to Pacific’s Edge are expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2016.

Hyatt Carmel Highlands’ 48 guestrooms and 10 suites will see new furnishings, décor and climate control systems. New guestroom décor will reflect the coastal atmosphere of the entire property. The bar, Sunset Lounge, will be receiving a new configuration to display views of the Pacific coastline, while the lobby area will soon be able to fit 100 guests for private events in a newly furnished space.
