Yardley, Pa. – Global Traveler, the only monthly magazine for business and luxury travelers, announces the addition of the Leisure Travel Awards.
Launching May 2012, the new awards will recognize the best in leisure travel destinations, cruises, tour operators and resorts. Much like the magazine’s GT Tested Reader Survey awards, the Leisure Travel Awards are 100 percent based on reader votes. Voting kicks off in The Luxury Book, a bonus book releasing with the May 2012 issue. Voting concludes Dec. 31, 2012.
“The GT Tested Reader Survey awards recognize the best in the entire world of travel,” said Danielle Hudena, director of sales and marketing, Global Traveler. “We decided it was important to add these awards to recognize the best in the specific leisure travel market. We’re excited to highlight this segment of the travel industry.”
“Our readers are experienced travelers, making 32 round-trip flights per year,” said Francis X. Gallagher, publisher and CEO, Global Traveler. “While they typically travel for business, these travelers are taking several vacations per year as well, and we want to acknowledge the cruise lines, resorts, tour operators and destinations our intrepid, knowledgeable readers are frequenting.”
