Yardley, Pa., May 30, 2014 – Global Traveler, the only monthly magazine for business and luxury travelers, announces the 2014 Airline and Hotel of the Year award nominees. Which airline and hotel will follow in the illustrious footsteps of 2013 winners Etihad Airways and Address Hotels + Resorts to be named the fourth Airline and Hotel of the Year?
Global Traveler staff vote on the nominees. Each well-traveled staffer submits a list of airline and hotel nominees. Nominees are notified and invited to fill out an online application with pertinent information, including financial data, occupancy rates, load factors, on-time figures, safety records and menus. A selected panel of Global Traveler employees and Advisory Board members choose the winners based on information completed by the individual airlines and hotels, outside research and experience. Only those invited are considered for the honor.
Once an airline or hotel wins the award, it is ineligible for consideration for three years. Inaugural winners Asiana Airlines and Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts are eligible for the honor again in 2014, pending nominations; 2012 and 2013 winners, including South African Airways, Etihad Airways, Jumeirah International and Address Hotels + Resorts are not eligible this year.
