At Gateway Canyons Resort & Spa in Gateway, Colo., you can treat a travel-loving friend or family member to a special multiday Gift of Curiosity getaway. The resort, located in Western Colorado’s Palisades, was built by Discovery Channel and Discovery Communications founder John Hendricks.
During the themed stay, guests will travel by helicopter to the red rock Fruita mesa, an area rich in dinosaur remains. They’ll be joined by Zebulon Miracle, a historian, paleontologist and anthropologist who serves as the resort’s Curator of Curiosity. Also part of the adventure: a night of stargazing in the light pollution-free skies of Colorado’s canyon country, with a private dinner with Miracle organized by the resort’s executive chef. The getaway includes luxury accommodations for two nights, ground transportation to and from the airport and breakfast each day. Prices begin at $4,445 for two guests and $5,890 for four guests.
