Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center opened its doors as the largest combined resort and convention center in Colorado. The fifth Gaylord Hotels property is one of the largest resorts in the world to debut under Marriott this year.

The property includes more than 1,500 guestrooms; 114 suites; 14 presidential suites; nearly 500,000 square feet of convention center space; and 85 acres including an indoor and outdoor water park.

Only 10 minutes from Denver International Airport, the property overlooks the Denver skyline with views of the Rocky Mountains.

“Adding a western group destination of this magnitude to Marriott International’s portfolio allows our organization to leverage existing large conference business demand into the property. This spectacular new-build will also create new demand in the market with meetings customers who have never considered Colorado for their events,” said Mike Stengel, senior vice president, Gaylord Hotels, Marriott International.

The design and feel of the property stays true to all things Colorado. Elevators look like old mine shafts, water features cascade over boulders and local artwork depicts local settings. In guestrooms, the theme continues with lumberjack plaid pillows, hiking maps in the closets and tree-inspired carpets. The theme turns from aspen woodland to ski slopes in the convention center, with elements inspired by ski tracks and snowflakes.
