Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and CLMBR bring CLMBR Connected, a vertical climbing machine, to all brand hotels and resorts worldwide, offering travelers a new way to blow off steam and find healthy living on the road. The implementation should be in place by mid-2021.
CLMBR Connected is a vertical climbing machine for at-home and commercial use, and just completed its first funding round led by venture capital and private equity firm KBW-Ventures; Marco Borges, CEO and founder, 22 Days Nutrition; and others. KWB Ventures, through its investment, will integrate CLMBR into its Four Seasons hotel properties worldwide.
CLMBR is the first vertical climber to feature a large-format touch display with on-demand, instructor-led classes. The patent-pending design has a high-quality build with an integrated audio system that can fill an entire room with sound. With a minimal level of maintenance, the state-of-the-art companion app displays key metrics like vertical feet climbed and workout targets. Most hotel gyms feature outdated climbing machines that have an obtrusive center pole; CLMBR eliminates that obstruction with the touchscreen, and pre-loaded tutorials will help hotel guests adjust to the machine. Users can track their progress on the go with the app.
“We are excited to work with KBW-Ventures and Marco to bring the best modality in fitness to consumers around the world,” said Avrum Elmakis, founder and CEO, CLMBR. “Unlike bikes, treadmills and rowers, CLMBR has less impact on the joints while providing the most efficient calorie burn per minute of any machine in the marketplace. CLMBR disrupts how people work out and offers something new in a segment that has not seen a lot of meaningful innovation. I’m excited to share the machine with consumers as we become the leader in the connected fitness market.”

As our four-passenger plane prepared to land on a gravely shoreline in Lake Clark National Park, one of the most remote national parks in the United States, accessible only by plane or boat, my excitement grew. Though the flight was scenic and provided a terrific perspective of the vast expanse of this part of Southcentral Alaska, my fellow passengers and I had one thing on our mind — bears!
