From new uniforms and routes to the installation of in-flight WiFi, the past several months have seen numerous improvements for airline giant Delta Air Lines, and the enhancements continue. The airline announced it will launch its new premium-economy cabin, slated to debut on select international flights in 2017 with more space, elevated service and luxury amenities.

The new premium-economy experience features adjustable leg and head rests, up to 38 inches of pitch, 19 inches of width and 7 inches of recline for ultimate comfort on long-haul flights. Premium in-flight offerings include Westin Heavenly In-Flight Blankets and TUMI amenity kits, along with improved food and beverage services. A 13.3-inch, high-resolution, in-flight entertainment screen, among the largest in its class, will offer a large collection of movies, shows and games to be enjoyed with noise-canceling headphones. In-seat power ports and storage will allow passengers to keep devices nearby. Passengers in the new premium-economy class can also take advantage of Delta’s Sky Priority service offering a faster check-in, accelerated security, priority boarding and expedited baggage services.

“Delta Premium is Delta’s latest example of paying careful attention to what customers tell us they want and responding with unique products designed to meet their individual needs,” said Tim Mapes, senior vice president and chief marketing officer, Delta.

The new cabin will be introduced in fall 2017 on the airline’s Airbus A350s and will feature 48 seats. Delta Premium will launch on its Boeing 777 fleet beginning in 2018.
