Delta Air Lines announced new service from New York (JFK) to Mumbai (BOM), starting Dec. 22. A newly renovated Boeing 777-200LR services the route. The airline says demand for flights between the United States and India increased significantly over the last decade and New York is the largest U.S. market to India, with the largest base of corporate customers.
“Delta’s non-stop service between New York and Mumbai is the latest example of our international growth as we strive to connect the world better than any other airline,” said Ed Bastian, CEO, Delta Air Lines. “This route would not be possible without the administration’s ongoing efforts to enforce fair competition in international travel, ensuring that consumers enjoy a wide range of choices as they travel the globe.”
The Boeing 777-200LR aircraft featured on the route includes Delta One suite, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+ and economy-class options. Seatback entertainment is free across all cabins. Passengers enjoy access to free mobile messaging through iMessage, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger.
The flight operates year-round, departing New York City at 9:15 p.m. each day, and arriving in Mumbai at 10:50 p.m. the following day. Return flights depart Mumbai at 12:50 a.m. and arrive in New York City at 6:35 a.m.
