Delta Air Lines Treats BusinessElite Travelers To A New Wine Experience

Feb 17, 2015
Daily / Feature

Delta Air Lines has introduced a new wine menu exclusively for BusinessElite passengers on routes between London (LHR) and the United States. The selection features two red and two white wines carefully chosen by Delta’s master sommelier Andrea Robinson from notable and long-established wineries in France, Italy and California.

The current selection of white wines includes G de Château Guiraud, Bordeaux, France, 2013; and Beni di Batasiolo Langhe Chardonnay, Serbato, Italy, 2013. Selected red wines are Decoy Pinot Noir, Sonoma County, Calif., 2012; and Château Cantemerle, Bordeaux, France, 2011.

“Customers on Delta’s London routes appreciate fine wines and I’ve selected two of my favorites from the Bordeaux region and two sensational wines from Italy and California to start our exclusive wine program in style,” said Robinson. “We select wines that hold up well at 30,000 feet, so that you can be sure they’ll taste as great in air as they do at the château.”

The selection process for Delta’s BusinessElite wines is part of a rigorous annual evaluation during which Robinson evaluates more than 1,600 wine submissions from around the world.

Review: Sushi by Scratch at Grand Hyatt Deer Valley

Husband-and-wife team Phillip Frankland Lee and Margarita Kallas-Lee made their mark by reinventing the term “hidden gem” through their surprising and intentional collection of destination restaurants. While they launched the original Scratch Kitchen in 2013, an expired lease prompted them to relocate to an unassuming strip mall in suburban Encino in 2015 and rename it Scratch Bar & Kitchen. Even at a time when the San Fernando Valley was not known for innovative 5-star dining, the Lees’ concepts gathered such a strong buzz that discerning diners cheerfully followed them “over the hill.”
