Meliá Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai’s first 5-star hotel to open since the pandemic, now welcomes the city’s tallest rooftop bar. With beautiful views of the Ping River, Mai The Sky Bar sits atop the hotel’s 22^nd floor.

The rooftop bar serves a wide variety of authentic Spanish tapas and pinchos, with dishes like Galician-style octopus with smoked paprika; fried, creamy, house-made ham croquettes; smoked salmon on crusty baguette slices; and skewers with pickled pepper, anchovies and green olives. Other plates include grilled prawns with green chili relish and grilled pineapple, as well as desserts like a seasonal fruit platter with Thai-style, spicy-salty sugar; wild honey; and lime.

Guests can enjoy these dishes alongside handcrafted drinks such as Bosque de Chiang Mai, a concoction of whisky, cinnamon, cranberry juice, lime, honey and pasteurized egg white. Misty Hill, another drink, features Irish whisky, triple sec, pineapple juice, basil leaves, lime juice and sugar.

Every Thursday–Sunday from 8 p.m., international DJs play Spanish and Latin music at the bar. Mai The Sky Bar will also host monthly themed parties throughout 2023 with guest artist lineups.
