Home to iconic movies like Hocus Pocus, Halloween never fades in Salem, Massachusetts. Visit beloved film sites, explore museums and learn about Salem’s deep-rooted past. Dated back to 1692, this was where the Salem Witch Trials began.
Here is a perfectly curated itinerary to fully maximize your time in Salem:
- Start your day at a witch-themed coffee shop, Blackcraft, where everything is spooky, from its seasonal drinks, Gothic aesthetic and to-die-for pastries.
- Explore Witch City via trolley with a one-hour ride exploring the town’s historical past.
- Learn more about the Salem Witch Trials, how it all began and life in 1692 at The Salem Witch Museum.
- Head over to the Witch House, home of judge Jonathan Corwin and now one of the few structures still standing with ties to the trials in Salem.

- No trip to Salem is complete without visits to iconic film sites from Hocus Pocus. Fangirl in front of town hall and Allison’s house, where the back gardens are free to tour and open daily to the public.

- Finish up the day with well-deserved shopping along Essex Street Pedestrian Mall. Peek into stores for spooky-themed items, crystals and maybe even participate in a witchcraft ritual.

Beware of scary characters such as Michael Myers, Freddy and Beetlejuice awaiting tourists along Salem’s main street for photo ops and meet and greet opportunities.

Opened March 2025, Villatel Resort Orlando is one of Orlando’s newest elevated resorts, but far more unique and private than you’ll find at many other resorts and hotels in the area.
