Winterland at Wrigley Field

Winterland has returned to Gallagher Way at Wrigley Field. The winter fun, which includes new attractions, expanded into the actual ballpark.

Now located inside the friendly confines, Gallagher Ice Rink is a 12,000-square-foot ice skating rink. Ice bumper cars take over the rink at selected times. I am not very swift on skates, but ice bumper cars open a whole new level of fun. It is surreal gliding around on the same field where baseball legends perform. While access to inside Wrigley Field requires tickets, there are plenty of free activities outside the park.

Authentic, German-style Christkindlmarket Wrigleyville offers food, music, ornaments and more from vendors around the world. Hot spiced wine or hot chocolate keeps visitors warm. Christkindlmarket Wrigleyville is open through Dec. 31.

Debuting six years ago, Winterland at Gallagher Way includes new and returning family-friendly activities and interactive experiences. Special programs and performances mix with the regular daily schedule to combine to help visitors celebrate the holidays in a unique and amazing setting.

Running through Jan. 8, Winterland is a great way to end this year or start next year. To really get in the spirit, I suggest taking the special holiday-themed train or bus.

One of Hawai’i’s Most Popular (and Controversial) Attractions Being Demolished

If you haven’t actually climbed them, you’ve seen beautiful photos of them at one time or another: Hawai’i’s Stairway to Heaven, located on Oahu. The 3,922-step hike ascends Koolau Mountain Range and has been illegal to hike since 1987. But this has not stopped travelers and locals from doing so, even with a steep fine of $1,000 for trespassing.
