If you are reading this, you know what I’m going to say … Happy New Year! For me personally, 2018 was quite a whirlwind! I began my new position with Global Traveler in July, moved to a new city and made some new friends and traveled to places I’d never expected!
2019 is a new year, but it isn’t always a new you; it’s a new destination, and from a recent survey, you like to share it! I recently read an article on our fabulous Global Traveler website, that featured a discussion on the most hash-tagged places in the USA, which pointed out trends in what we travelers choose to publish or publicly “tag” ourselves in the world. One of the top selections as far as beaches was the beautiful and vibrant Miami Beach. I have visited Miami Beach, and it is certainly one to add to your travel list if you have not already!
My question, though, is what inspires our travels? Starting a new year, one tends to reflect on what plans or goals are paramount to accomplish, and for our readers, travel is a top one. Besides our trips we plan for business, the driving factors vary between individuals. I believe for some it is a major life event, such as a honeymoon, that may inspire travel. For others, perhaps it’s visiting a college friend who moved and they want to see their new digs, or maybe it’s the annual family getaway that we daydream about, taking time to rest and be present and enjoy the fruits of our labors.
