For residents who live in New York City, and you know who you are, you must apply for the NYC ID card. Since it’s free, all you have to do is fill out a simple application and get a photo taken. For this minimal effort, you receive a great number of benefits, including free entrance for a year to museums including MOMA and the MET, as well as discounts on movie tickets.
