After being impressed with Frankie Torres on The Voice, I did a bit of research. When I learned she just traveled to Italy and elsewhere, I knew I found my next interview guest for Talking Travel.
Always possessing a love of music and performance, Torres joined School of Rock when she was 8. She actually auditioned for The Voice when she was 14, making it through the initial parts, but got sick. About a decade later, after a friend made it on to The Voice, Torres tried again.
Torres made it to the knockout round on Season 26 of The Voice. Despite not winning, Torres experienced several highlights, including the rare four-chair turn, as all four judges wanted her on their team.
Since The Voice, Torres has been quite busy. She sang the national anthem at a Minnesota Vikings game. Recently she was named the official anthem singer for the Minnesota Frost, a professional women’s hockey team. For a Minnesota sports fan, that’s exciting. Torres also still performs with her band, Midnight Rambler, and works with young adults with physical and mental disabilities.
Discussing her love of travel, Torres revealed her strategy of using her performances as reasons for travel. She talked about her recent trip to Italy to visit her brother, along with two other trips to the country she adores. A bit of a throwback, Torres named a notebook as a must for travel, citing the connection in physically writing and holding notes. She listed Red Rocks as one of her favorite venues where she has performed.
Soon to be 25, Torres has a bright future in music. She will also do plenty of travels following her musical path and her bucket-list destinations.
