In what’s becoming a tradition, over the weekend my boyfriend and I went to Atlantic City for a quick getaway. Before heading to the city, we stopped in Longport for some beach time with friends. It was my first time at this beach, and unfortunately, it was a bit too chilly to fully enjoy the water — though I did briefly get my feet wet. It was nearing check-in time at Harrah’s, so we packed our beach chairs and drove to the hotel.
We were in town for a Death Cab for Cutie concert; so after checking in and getting ready, we slowly made our way over to Revel for the show. Neither of us had been to Revel before, and we were excited to experience the resort. Having opened in 2012, the resort is a fairly new addition to Atlantic City’s Boardwalk. Located right on the water, we took in gorgeous views of the ocean through the floor-to-ceiling glass as we rode the escalator to the main floor.

The concert was in Ovation Hall, a 5,500-seat amphitheater. We had standing-room tickets, so we were able to find the best view of the stage. The band put on a great show, playing a nice variety of its songs. Our post-concert dining options were limited, as it ended around 10:30 p.m. and many restaurants in Revel were closing down for the night. We decided on a quick bite from Distrito Cantina by Jose Garces. We split guacamole, a side of sweet corn, nachos and tongue tacos. Everything was delicious, though the nachos were spicier than we expected. Overall, we enjoyed experiencing a new spot in Atlantic City.
