Patricia Kara was back in town, doing a few book celebrations. Her book, Dream On … Now Deliver, was published early last year, but any time Patricia returns to the area is cause for celebration.
A Chicago native, Patricia drew her usual crowd of family, friends and fans to Assumption Greek Orthodox Church of Homer Glen, a southwest suburb of Chicago.
The special part of Patricia’s events is they aren’t traditional book signings. These events are like reunions. Even first-timers quickly get embraced, as my friend Tony was. Within minutes of chatting, Patricia and Tony realized they grew up near each other and knew several of the same people.
I cannot possibly recap a Greek event without mentioning the trays of spanakopita, the star of the large assortment of food at the refreshments table. I was so eager to devour some, I failed to get a picture, but no photo could do it justice anyway.
Dream On … Now Deliver is “the no-nonsense guide to achieving success in the entertainment industry.” While on the surface it is a great resource for those who desire an entertainment career, I found the life lessons and advice applicable to everyday life as well.
In our Talking Travel interview of last year, Patricia spoke of her love for travel, which prompted me to get an update interview from her. After her stay in Chicago, she is heading to Italy. Later this year she will publish another book. She also promised a full update Talking Travel interview on all of that.
