Music festivals are an important part of any destination; Corona organizes a big music festival in Mexico City every November.
Over the years, big groups and international performers such as Green Day, The Foo Fighters, Dua Lipa, Bastille and others shared their love and passion for music with Mexico City, and this year was no exception.
Corona Capital Chapter 10 celebrated 10 years of bringing people together to enjoy music, along with good beer, for two days. I’ve been going for four years with my closest friends to see our favorite bands and discover some new ones.
Wear your favorite and most comfortable pair of shoes you have and a comfy outfit; inside the festival you’ll find everything else you need and things you didn’t know you needed.
Last weekend we had the pleasure to dance along with Billie Eilish, one of my favorites; Years & Years; Two Feet; Sofi Tukker; Flume; Keane; Interpol; The Strokes; and a lot others. I wish I could split in two to be at every concert. Instead, I had to choose between two or three good ones, as they happened at the same time.
This is one of my favorite weekends of the year — you get the chance to totally disconnect from the world, the stress from the week, work and the city. The only thing you have to worry about is getting in time for the bands you want to see, and definitely going with your friends is essential. The more the merrier! My friends and I break into small groups; so if we want to see different bands, we separate and eventually find each other again.
Even though it’s a good weekend getaway, you don’t end up relaxed and renewed — you end up tired as if you’d ran a marathon and then did a triathlon, but it’s so totally worth it.
Can’t wait to know who’s coming next year!
