This past weekend, a big group of friends and I took an extended trip to Miami to watch the Philadelphia Eagles play the Miami Dolphins. It’s always nice going to Miami, but it’s even better when you can escape the Northeastern weather in December.

Despite the game being in Miami, all 16 of us stayed at an Airbnb in Fort Lauderdale, which gave us the opportunity to check out both cities. I almost always stay in a hotel when I go on vacation, but I have found Airbnbs work exceptionally well when you are traveling with a large group. As long as you have a reputable host, the experience is seamless and you don’t have to worry about everyone staying in a different hotel room — it’s often cheaper, too.

We arrived Friday morning on a direct flight from Newark and promptly headed to the grocery store to stock up for the next four days. Most of our time was spent outside by the pool,   enjoying the fact we were missing the snowstorms back in Philadelphia.

On Sunday we all took a bus from our Airbnb to the stadium in Miami. Despite Eagles fans occupying about half of the stadium,

the game was a wreck and we ended up losing, making for an awkward bus ride back. Even the airport TSA agents all made fun of us for being Eagles fans on our return which, I suppose, is fair considering the outcome.

Nonetheless, everyone enjoyed the trip, and it was nice to get away for a bit. As always, go Birds.
