Labor Day weekend came and went, and I am officially ready to switch into fall mode. But first, a recap:
Last week my husband and I got a jump start on the long weekend by attending the Nine Inch Nails concert. A few of our friends bought tickets to the show as soon as they went on sale. When we found out how many people would be going, we decided to join them. Some of our friends are die-hard fans. Beyond their contributions as a band, I am a fan of the award-winning film scores bandmates Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross created for The Social Network, Gone Girl and Challengers. We met three of our friends for dinner ahead of the show. We walked to Xfinity Mobile Arena together, then parted ways to find our other friends who were seated in our row. The energy at the concert was incredible, and we had a blast!
The rest of the weekend was much more low-key. On Friday night our friends hosted us for a casual happy hour. Saturday, we visited our local farmers market, then had brunch with our friend who was in town for the concert. Sunday, we hosted some family for a grilled steak dinner. Monday, we enjoyed more family time, then planned out some activities and travel for the weeks and months ahead.
While I feel a slight sadness as the warm summer days dwindle, I am excited for all fall has to bring.
